After a lot of trial and error, I landed on the Cornerstone Imperium as my foundation drive, with the Gladio SC side almost always on. Have not used the Antique side much, because I’m pairing the Gladio side with some other gain stage pedals on my board, but need to spend a lot more time with it. Overall, love the pedal.

Yeah, I feel the same as you about Tube Screamers. I use a Jam version I love but...this pedal provides option you don't get with a standard or expensive TS pedal. I don't want to buy something but this pedal is to my ears is a perfect alternative for TS style pedal. More gain, if wanted, and so much more clarity- the options that would work well for me. Thx!

  • @stanesposito2664

I like the options the pedal provides. In the past there were times when I thought a traditional TS didn't have enough output. The mid frequency seems a little lower to my ears, but I haven't used one in years, but I like where the mids sit. Nice job!

Never knew about this pedal. Very intriguing features. Whenever I hear my guitar going through a Tube Screamer in a band mix, the whole tube screamer trip makes a lot of sense. This pedal looks like it will do that typical sound but with some cool options for different situations.

I picked like that for like 20 years. At the time I couldn't stand and play. Then one day I came home and stood up to play and couldn't sit and play anymore. Eventually years and years later I realized it was all about which way was I tilting the pick. Now I can sit or stand, but if I sit I have to tilt it back like you do -- except the bevel is then backwards, isn't it. So now I have standing picks and sitting picks LOL

  • @Wingman52

Deluxes can sound different for so many reasons, but the big ones are 1) the speaker, and 2) the tubes. Get rid of all the Russian and Chinese junk tubes and replace them with older tubes made in the USA and put in a better speaker, maybe a Celestion, or an EV and you have a completely different amp IMHO. Do those 2 things to a 65 Reissue and you're going to have an amp at least as good as one of the vintage point to point amps that costs 3 or 4 times more..

Your "Live Clip" sound demo is an isolated recording which is clean and pristine. How does it sound in the mix? How about a room recording to hear it in context with tje whole band? Not a direct to mixer recording either of everyone else. A real "LIVE"" clip of the whole band. Like a phone/video recording from an audience member?

Iam 10 gigs in and it already makes problems for me. I love the sound, the tuner update is great, but somehow midi stopped working and I couldn't change banks on the pedal itself... Its a great device! and after a Morgan SW50, a Kemper, an old 70s Fender style amp from Japan (Newport) and ad VHT D50, this thing really is what I come back to. But the damn midi thing....back to step dance

in this amp build I see you use a turret board.... that seems so much more clean and actuate way to build... wish I could do this on the tweed deluxe... but seems the kit does not come this way.... I wonder could I install the posts on to a board that does not have them on there... like a blackface deluxe reverb... sweet build... thanks again...

  • @fredfalcon1347
    @fredfalcon1347 15 днів тому

not to be a smart ass... but you need a sump pump , so if there is another basement flood ... its ready to protect the basement ... right. also you could look into why water is getting in and slop the ground. kind of important... what if the deluxe was on the ground and got soaked... oh that would hurt... and do you have a carbon monoxide / fire alarm in the basement... a little safety goes a long way... after all you seem meticulous building amps... why not spend some attention on safety... love your videos... Im going to build a deluxe tweed.... cant decide Mojotone or trinity ... thanks again...

It’s was an outside drainage issue that easily resolved. Never had any other issues but I never put anything of value on the floor just in case. (That’s why the deluxe wasn’t on the floor)

Michael got the ToneX One. I have it interfaced thru the loop on my HX Stomp. Thus far it’s been kind of love/hate relationship. Many of the capture models sound great and better than the Line 6 models. The input trim is fairly easy with the new update. I’m on the fence as far as the ToneX SE app. The amp model availability is fantastic. But some of the captures with the high gain models are very flubby and need a lot of tweaking.

It is available SE version in my subscription as well. Just a second day of using the tonex one. Have installed the asio driver on windows 10 and got an issue that the volume puts on maximum and doesn’t react on adjustment ((( So if I turn on some backing track or some system sound it plays on maximum 🤯 Do you know how to fix it?😊

This is my favourite part of building or restoring an amp. I like to get speakers that have a quality I like, be that the resonant peaks or the breakup then I like to get a bias point that compliments that. Then the coupling caps for more or less bass.. filter caps for more or less firm bottom end .. how they sound with my guitars and pedals ..tweaking the input grid stoppers etc. Once you get an amp "perfect" they are a joy. The difference all this little tweaking makes to the end product is insane.

I really like the ToneXone. Sounds great. I love capturing my own equipment and having a method to play it live. I use Irs with my HXStomp and that works well too. I definitely use these FOH solutions as a set it and Go situation. I just use a few pedals to change tonality. I don’t think you can go wrong getting one of theses. May not turn out to be a permanent fixture on your board, but it fits so easily in a gear bag and sounds fantastic.

Doesn't it matter which direction the resistors are wired in? Meaning, the paint stripes need to be oriented a certain direction? It looks like fun. I've been doing automotive wiring for years and think I could build an amp if the instructions, pics and schematics are clear.

I’ve been building amps for years. Great hobby. It should be mentioned that Alexander Dumble knew his amps were unique so he coated most of the inside with a black silicone so amp builders couldn’t reverse engineer them. I could only imagine the guys that picked all that out of one of his amps just so I could be cloned. Great channel!

Very nice. I have a helix and use a tube amp 4cm but the amp is very heavy. I also have the powercab plus but I dont like the helix amps period so I only use helix FX. I have zero use for studio, only live setting or band practice. I dont use IEM and I dont play thru the PA at band practice as its too small. How can I use this tone X? I want to upgrade but not expensive like a FM9. I'd be ok to get a EV PXM-12P. Do you find you run out of foot buttons if only using the tone x?
